Mechanical
engineering is one of the broadest and most versatile of the engineering
professions. The Department of Mechanical Engineering marked its
beginning in 2016 with intake capacity of 60 students. The objective of the department is to
empower the budding engineers with need based technical knowledge and skills
through well qualified and experienced faculty and staff. The department has well
equipped laboratories to help students enhance their practical knowledge. For the overall development of students, the department
has student association, “MESA” through which different technical events,
expert lectures; extra-curricular and co-curricular activities are organized.
The department has tie ups with nearby industries which help in strengthening
the industry-institute interactions. Through these industries, industrial
visits, internships, industrial case studies, projects are carried out to
provide industrial exposure to the students. The students show their technical
abilities and knowledge by participating in various technical events within and
outside the campus. The department encourages the students to participate in
extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. Many passed out students have
been serving national and multi-national companies in software sector and core
sectors. Moreover, few passed out students are pursuing their post graduations
from reputed colleges like IIT, NIT, IIM and also from foreign universities.
The students are keen to identify the needs of the society, fulfilling them through
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan projects.
